On the sidelines of the 2nd day of the Marrakech Air Show 2024, four memorandums of understanding were signed between the Moroccan government and aeronautical companies concerning industrial investment projects aimed at developing Boeing's sourcing from Moroccan aeronautical actors.
As part of the Boeing ecosystem, these projects will enable the development of new skills and capabilities in the local aeronautics value chain, in line with the Kingdom's strategy to improve the sector's local integration rate.
The 1st Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Moroccan government and Structural Aerospace Morocco (SAM), a subsidiary of the Aviagroup Industries SAS aeronautical group, concerns the extension of the company's current production site at the Nouaceur aeropole, by setting up an industrial unit dedicated to the manufacture and assembly of aerostructures for the aeronautical sector. With a projected investment of 75 MDH (1st phase), this project will eventually create 200 jobs. The agreement was signed by Mr. Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade; Mr. Ali Seddiki, CEO of AMDIE; and the Chairman of SAM.
The 2nd investment project concerns the creation of a production unit for the German group MASTERFLEX SE in Casablanca, which will specialize in the manufacture of flexible tubing in Morocco for the aeronautical sector. The projected investment for the project is €2.5 million, and will eventually create 70 jobs. The agreement was signed by Mr. Ryad Mezzour, Mr. Ali Seddiki, and the company's CEO.
A 3rd Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Moroccan government and TRELLEBORG, a world leader in technical polymer solutions, for the creation of an industrial unit at Midparc, specializing in the manufacture of sealing systems for the aeronautical sector. With an investment of €11 million, the project will eventually create 150 jobs. The agreement was signed by Mr. Ryad Mezzour, Mr. Ali Seddiki and the company's representative.
Finally, the 4th Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Moroccan State, represented by Mr. Ryad Mezzour, and Composite Industrie Maroc (CIM), concerning the extension of the latter's business site through the installation of a unit specializing in the manufacture of thermo-acoustic insulation mattresses and waterproofing systems. The investment amounts to 216 MDH and will create 648 jobs. Composite Industrie Maroc, a subsidiary of the Hutchinson Group, specializes in the design, qualification and production of composite products and thermo-acoustic insulation blankets for the aerospace and defense markets.
