The Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Services (CCIS)

Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Services are public institutions with a professional nature that enjoy financial and administrative independence, under the supervision of the state and carry out the following roles :

• Advisory role : related to the administration's duty to advise these institutions on matters related to commercial, economic and trade legislation and practices.

• Representative role : granting Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Services the defense of the general interest of citizens, particularly traders, industrialists and service providers.

• Support and promotion role : consists of granting these chambers the management of institutions of economic importance that fall within their territorial jurisdiction.

Given their basic system as public institutions managed by private entrepreneurs, Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Services are the only institutions that act as intermediaries between the state and companies operating in the sectors of trade, industry and services.

Initially the number of chambers was 28, then the geographical distribution of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Services was adapted to the new territorial division of the Kingdom adopted in 2015, to become 12 regional chambers according to the new regional division, after the entry into force of Decree No. 2.15.283 dated 20 Jamada Al-Thani 1436, corresponding to April 10, 2015, relating to the appointment of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Services and the seats allocated to them and determining the electoral constituencies and their territorial jurisdiction and the number of seats.

The regional chambers are brought together in the "Moroccan Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Services" in the form of an association governed by the provisions of the Dahir No. 1-58-376 of 3 Jamada Al-Oula 1378, corresponding to November 15, 1958, organizing the right to establish associations, as amended and supplemented. This entity has been established under the provisions of Article 69 of Law No. 38-12 relating to the basic statute of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Services, as amended and supplemented.
