Moulay Hafid Elalamy at the Donors and Investors Conference for Madagascar: Morocco is committed to assisting the Malagasy Government

M. Moulay Hafid El Alamy, Minister of Industry, Commerce, Investment and the Digital Economy, has participated on 1 December 2016 to the Donors and Investors Conference for Madagascar, held in Paris.

This meeting, which represents a turning point for the economic recovery of Madagascar, has aimed to mobilise the necessary funding to subsidise the country's development projects, including the national development Plan 2016-2020.

On this occasion, the Minister stressed the commitment of the Kingdom of Morocco for the strengthening of the Moroccan-Malagasy partnership, recently enhanced by the Royal visit to Madagascar, on 21 November 2016, during which 22 cooperation agreements covering several areas of mutual interest were signed between the two countries.

Morocco, noted the Minister, is committed, through its public and private operators, to assist the Government of Madagascar in its path towards economic growth, stressing, in this regard, the huge potential and investment opportunities Madagascar enjoys in various areas.

Furthermore, Minister Elalamy called upon donors and countries to mobilize alongside Madagascar to provide strong support to its national development Plan through investment funds that can contribute to increasing public-private partnerships, enhance trade flows between Southern countries and help the country establish efficient investment incentives.
