M. Moulay Hafid Elalamy Minister of Industry, Commerce, Investment and the Digital Economy, chaired, 11 November, 2016, in Marrakech, the "industry day", on the theme: "Industrial ecosystems at the service of green growth", in the presence of prominent national and international actors working in the fields of green growth.
The event, which was organized as part of the COP22, aimed at encouraging industrial businesses to strengthen their production systems while adopting a green growth approach. Emphasis was placed on the contribution of green growth in improving the competitiveness of companies, the encouragement of ecological production systems, or innovation in green technologies.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Moulay Hafid Elalamy, stressed that "Moroccan industrial companies would benefit from green growth strategies combining environmental and economic dimensions around performing ecosystems".
The COP 22 being an action centred conference, M. Minister has announced on this occasion the launch of a structuring project with the aim of promoting green growth in the industrial ecosystems.
The objective is to disseminate, in the industrial ecosystems, technologies favouring ecological production modes that generate profit on the environmental level, reduce production costs and create new investment opportunities.
This project comes in two major sections:
This project, stressed Minister Elalamy, represents a historic opportunity to be seized. It should generate a new green growth momentum for industrial ecosystems drawn by technological innovation while addressing the needs of the markets and strengthening the synergy between sectorial strategies.
